Ligamentotomy

Penis enlargement surgery

Most often, men think about penis enlargement for psychological reasons. The pressure of sociocultural factors or negative experiences of intimacy prompt representatives of the stronger sex to seek help in a clinic.

Note that in most cases, dissatisfaction with penis size can be successfully resolved through psychotherapy. However, there are also medical indications for such an operation. The doctor determines the feasibility of the procedure based on the examination and anamnesis and then makes recommendations to the patient.

As far as the normal length of the penis is concerned, there are no clear answers. Much depends on measurement methods, racial differences and other factors. For Europeans, for example, it is 12-18 centimeters when erect. In this case, the measurement should be taken on the pubic bone, as the fat folds around the penis make it appear smaller.

A reason to see a doctor about the increase in your manhood may be a size of less than 12 cm, as well as a change in its shape. In addition to lengthening surgery, penis thickening is also practiced. Such results are achieved in various ways, which are discussed below.

Types of operations

Modern plastic surgery has several methods of penis enlargement. Doctors often resort to combined methods, which include both surgical interventions and the use of special devices - extenders. The latter are attached to the penis and help to lengthen it. Let's take a look at the most common penis enlargement surgeries performed in clinics today.

Ligamentotomy

This is one of the most popular penis enlargement surgeries. The essence of this procedure is to cut the ligaments that support the penis (ligamentum suspensorium penis).

The ligaments that hold the penis extend deep into the pelvis and are attached to the pelvic bones. If you cut them, the penis will lengthen by 3-5 centimeters. This is achieved with the help of an extender, which is prescribed to a man after surgery. At the same time, protocols exist without the use of additional devices. The choice of technique is determined by the doctor based on the indications and possibilities of the clinic.

The suspensory ligaments were first severed through the pubic bone. However, the patient is left with noticeable scars after such an operation. A more modern method is access through a small incision in the scrotum. This procedure takes only 15-20 minutes and rehabilitation lasts no more than 14 days. The procedure is completed by applying absorbable sutures.

In fact, this surgical procedure does not lengthen the penis by one millimeter. The operation simply redistributes its length and pulls out the perineal part of the reproductive organ.

Lipofilling

Lipofilling can increase the thickness of the penis. For this purpose, the patient's fatty tissue is used, which is transplanted subcutaneously into the penis. One of the advantages of using your own tissue is that there is no rejection reaction from the immune system.

This operation is performed under general anesthesia. In the first step, fatty tissue is collected. Incisions are made on the patient's thighs or stomach through which a certain amount of fat is removed using a syringe. The fatty mass is then cleaned of blood impurities and placed in a thin layer under the skin of the penis through microscopic punctures.

At the end of the operation, the puncture sites are covered with plasters.This procedure increases the thickness of the penis by about 0. 5-1. 5 cm.

Surgical thickening

Increasing the diameter of the penis is also possible through muscle tissue transplantation. A muscle flap is taken from the patient's abdomen or armpit and placed around the genitals.

This operation is considered complex and is associated with postoperative complications. In particular, the likelihood of an inguinal hernia occurring is high.

Hyaluronic acid injections

Many clinics practice penis enlargement with hyaluronic acid injections. This component has long been used for contouring, including of the genitals. Fillers (fillers) with hyaluronic acid smooth wrinkles and make the skin elastic. The substance combines well with fabrics and does not cause rejection or allergic reaction.

When inserted into the penis, the hyaluronic acid is distributed evenly over the entire surface, thereby achieving a proportional increase in the size of the organ. If necessary, only the head can be enlarged separately.

No hospital stay is required for this procedure. At the same time, the technology also has disadvantages. In contrast to surgical methods for penis enlargement, the effect of hyaluronic acid is temporary. After about 12-18 months the substance is completely absorbed, after which the process can be repeated.

Advantages of Ligamentotomy

Among the existing surgical methods for penis enlargement, doctors prefer ligamentotomy.This technique is considered the safest and least traumatic for the patient. Here are the main advantages of this operation:

  1. The procedure does not require general anesthesia. Local anesthesia is sufficient to eliminate pain.
  2. The man only spends 2-3 days in the clinic.
  3. Rehabilitation after surgery lasts only 2 weeks. Intimate life can be resumed after 1-1. 5 months. In this case, there may be some discomfort during the first contacts, but this goes away quickly. Otherwise, you should consult a doctor.
  4. Unlike other methods of penis enlargement, the reproductive organ itself is not subject to any traumatic effects. The operation is performed on ligaments only.
  5. In addition to lengthening, this procedure also partially eliminates other defects, such as curvatures.

The disadvantages of the method include the inability to accurately determine the effect of the operation in advance. It all depends on the individual characteristics of the man. In some patients, the size of the reproductive organ increases by 4-5 cm, in others - by 2-3 cm. Another consequence of penis enlargement is a change in the erection angle. However, this has no effect on the hardness of the erect organ.

Indications for ligamentotomy

There are both aesthetic and medical indications for penis enlargement surgery. The latter include:

  • Peyronie's disease is a pathological curvature of the penis that occurs due to fibrosis in the erectile tissue area;
  • The penis length is too short (micropenis);
  • Densification of the erectile tissue by replacing it with connective tissue.

This procedure is often carried out for aesthetic and/or psychological reasons:

  • a man's desire to increase his self-esteem and attractiveness;
  • get rid of psychological complaints and complexes;
  • Penile dysmorphophobia is a pathological dissatisfaction with the appearance of one's genitals.

diagnosis

Before penis enlargement surgery, diagnostics are carried out, which includes:

  • Consultations with an andrologist (or urologist) and a plastic surgeon;
  • Consultation with a psychotherapist (if necessary);
  • UAC;
  • blood chemistry;
  • Blood test for infections – HIV, syphilis, hepatitis virus;
  • consultation with an anesthesiologist;
  • ECG;
  • other types of studies (at the doctor's discretion).

Some of these contraindications are temporary in nature. After they are eliminated, the procedure can be carried out.

Contraindications

Plastic surgery to lengthen the penis is contraindicated if:

  • under 18 years of age (genitals are still developing);
  • serious diseases of internal organs;
  • acute inflammatory processes in the urogenital system;
  • blood clotting disorders;
  • arterial hypertension;
  • erectile dysfunction;
  • mental illness;
  • malignant neoplasms;
  • serious diseases of the cardiovascular system;
  • endocrine pathologies;
  • local infectious and/or purulent foci.

Possible complications

Immediately after surgical correction, swelling and hematomas form in the surgical area and last for several days. Such postoperative complications are normal and disappear within a few days. In very rare cases, bleeding and suppuration of postoperative sutures are possible.

recovery phase

In the first days after the operation, the patient is prescribed painkillers and antibiotics (to avoid infectious complications). Every 2 days you need to go to the clinic for bandages. If non-absorbable sutures were placed on the wound, they will be removed after 14 days.

To consolidate the result after ligament transection, the man is recommended to use an extender for 2-4 months. The device must be worn for several hours a day and removed at night.

If the extender is not worn out, the process may be useless. The fact is that the crossed ligament grows together and pulls the reproductive organ to its original position.

What determines the result of penis enlargement?

The result of a surgical procedure initially depends on the individual physiological characteristics of the patient. This particularly concerns the length of the perineal part of the penis (which can be stretched when crossing the ligaments), as well as the elasticity of the tissue.

Much depends on the capabilities of the clinic, the experience of the doctors, as well as the man's compliance with the recommendations. Remember that if you follow medical instructions, the effects will last for life.
